DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, February 9th\, 2013\, the doctor informed the Kidd family\n\nthat Jaxson had a brain tumor and their lives were forever changed.\n\nJaxson immediately had a shunt placed in his brain to relieve the pressure\n\nto save his life. This surgery was followed by another very lengthy\n\nsurgery to remove as much of the brain tumor as possible. The biopsy\n\ncame back following the surgery with a diagnosis of Medulloblastoma\,\n\na cancerous brain tumor. The Kidd family then headed to Oklahoma City\n\nafter recovering from his surgeries to receive 7 weeks of proton radiation.\n\nOnce the radiation was completed\, the Kidd family returned to Tulsa\n\nand Jaxson began 55 weeks of chemotherapy. Jaxson had numerous\n\nhospital stays\, fevers and infections. Due to this\, Jaxson completed\n\nmost of his 1st grade school work homebound. Jaxson has now started\n\n2nd grade at Bixby North Elementary and is able to attend class more often. Jaxson continues to ght headaches\n\nand is also dealing with numerous side eects from the treatment he has received over the past 62 weeks.\n\nHe has regular appointments with the psychologist\, physical therapist\, oncologist\, neurosurgeon\, endocrinologist and a hearing doctor. Jaxson also has follow-up MRIs of his brain and spine to watch for tumor re-growth.\n\nJaxson's journey is far from over\, but he is strong and a fighter!
